Sunrooms Ireland

In Ireland, it continues to be the great debate when the matter of constructing a conservatory comes up for discussion. Is a sunroom a conservatory or vice a versa?

Well, we at Conservatory Ireland are of the opinion that ne’er the twain shall meet.

A conservatory is utterly distinct from a sunroom even though it may seem a contradiction in terms.

Like beauty, of course everything is in the eye of the beholder. It all depends on your point of view as to what usage you are going to make of the room and again it all goes back to the design concept.

You must define what you are looking for and then set about achieving it. The location and aspect of your house can play a key role in the definition of what you consider this room to be. This will determine the usability of it and by that you can then give it due title.

Our definition of a sunroom is a room that has four seasons functionality. Whilst being a very active room in one context in the summer months located most probably beside a patio or deck area, the room can be transformed into a gracious living area in all of the other seasons.

A change of furniture and accessories means you can have a cosy sitting room, dining area or TV room for those winter months with a very small budget.

In Ireland, with our notorious climate, a sunroom seems a sensible economic compromise between cost and benefit.
